Frequently Asked Questions
I placed an order today, when should I expect to receive it?
Virgo Moon is operated by a single human (hi, it’s me, Jilly!) with occasional assistance, which means orders are often not processed and shipped out on the same day that the order was placed (though, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen!) On average, orders are packaged and shipped out 2-3x a week. I try my best to keep my online inventory accurate, but sometimes the product may be made to order, which means it may take a bit longer to get to you - don't be surprised if you place a large order and it takes me 5-10 business days to ship it all out to you! You are welcome to email me at virgomooncare@gmail.com to inquire about the status of your order, though it may take me a day or two to get back to you.
Are your products organic?
One of the core values of Virgo Moon is QUALITY. Each ingredient is selected with the utmost care and attention, and I try very hard to source as local as possible. That being said, some of the ingredients have been certified organic, others have not. For example, some ingredients I have harvested directly from the gardens of the land I live upon, which does not have an organic certification, but I do follow organic gardening procedures. Some ingredients are in their pure form and an organic certification is not possible or unnecessary (ex. glucose syrup, skincare actives like vitamin C.) Regardless, I try to keep everything as natural and whole as possible, utilize pure phytochemical extracts, and work with businesses with high standards of care and values that reflect my own.
Do you have a physical storefront?
No, I do not. I operate Virgo Moon from a studio with a licensed kitchen attached to my home in Mechanic Falls, Maine.
Do you do astrology/tarot parties?
Yes and no. I have attended parties for the sole purpose of offering astrological guidance to attendees, but I am very picky about it - number of attendees, location, type of party (birthday, graduation, bachelorette, etc.,) and guaranteed payment are all factors that come into play when making the decision to work a party. Long gone are the days of me going to a party to solely study the attendees and offer free astrological guidance - those were important formative years for me, but I have made it a rule of mine to not offer guidance and (try not to) discuss astrology at gatherings unless I am being compensated. I form very deep connections with others when I am providing guidance, and I have a hard time separating my professional life with my personal life - it is heartbreaking when I think someone cares about me, but really, they were only interested in me as a free resource. This is also why I have transitioned to lead a very private and secluded life. Though, feel free to email me at virgomooncare@gmail.com with party inquiries that have a guaranteed minimum payment of $400 - I may be interested.
I’m interested in learning about astrology; what resources do you recommend?
The answer to this question depends upon what you hope to gain from an astrological study. In general, I have found the “Only Way to Learn Astrology” book series by Marion D. March & Joan McEvers to be a good place to start. The first astrology book I ever read was Joanna Woolfolk’s first edition “The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need,” which has recent editions that are still in print. Though, my personal favorite beginner’s astrology book is Glenn Perry’s “An Introduction to AstroPsychology.” I have also studied works by Dane Rudhyar (my favorite!,) Demetra George, Liz Greene, Steven Forrest, Jeffrey Wolf Green, Robert Hand, Judith Hill, Robert Pelletier, Jessica Lanyadoo (great podcast!,) Anabel Gat (born the same week as me!,) and so many more wonderful astrologers who have come before me. Though, I truly believe the best teacher is your own observations - my first 15 years of practicing astrology was spent collecting birthdays and looking up their Sun & Moon signs (check out Charles & Suzi Harvey's "Sun Sign, Moon Sign" book.) At the time, there weren’t handheld devices that could instantly cast a birth chart, so I often used back-of-the-book resources to look up this information. Now you have astrology resources everywhere! I highly recommend downloading the applications: TimePassages, Time Nomad, Iphemeris, and/or AstroGold and start looking at the charts of everyone around you, including the charts of significant events or moments in time.
