Hello Moonbabes,
Blessed Double Venus Day to you - today is Friday, we’re vibing at a 6, and Mother Moon is in Taurus, so the Venus energy is potent. I hope you’re sending love out to everyone, including yourself, and maybe indulging in a little bit of retail therapy.
Venus is considered the planet of LOVE because she lets us know what we want and need - she ultimately wants us to feel good, and she does this in two different ways. First, as the planetary ruler of Fixed Earth Taurus, she wants safety, security, sensual gratification, pleasure, and comfort (personal love.) Second, as the planetary ruler of Cardinal Air Libra, she desires harmony, beauty, relatedness, companionship, and fairness (social love.) The only way to fully integrate and reap the greatest rewards from Venus is to KNOW YOURSELF. You need safety? What kind of safety? You need pleasure? What kind of pleasure? You desire companionship? What kind of companionship? You need to regularly ask yourself what is most important to you - because priorities definitely change. Take it from me, my Venus is in Aries, my priorities are perpetually new + fresh (it’s kinda difficult, tbh, most people do not understand how I jump from one thing to the next. Which is why I need partners who complement my enterprising values.)
I’ve been intentionally working on my Venus stuff for a few years now. Recently, my teacher discussed my Venus placement in front of the class - it was the first placement he narrowed in on, and I’m not too surprised - you see, I was born with a Libra Rising, giving me a Soul Mission to find balance within relationships; however, Venus was in Aries at the time I was born, and it is directly opposite my Rising, on the cusp of my 7th House (the house of Libra/relationships.) So, Venus is in her domicile, but she is also in the sign that opposes Libra, her planetary ruler, which means she is in uncomfortable territory. Venus wants to compromise when in the 7th House, but Aries, as an archetype, absolutely does not. It’s a paradox. Our charts (Universes) are full of paradoxes - the human experience is tricky and it isn’t meant to be simple or linear. Though, with each passing year, we get a chance to integrate the past and learn from our experiences.
The beautiful thing about astrology is how our internal experiences mirror our external and vice versa. The 7th House is our partnerships and those we meet in a face-to-face manner. Whenever I have lacked a strong sense of my identity (something an Aries truly needs,) I was attracted to (Venus) overly aggressive (Aries,) but gorgeous (Venus) individuals. Seriously, I feel like my relationship history has just been jumping from one beautiful jerk to the next. Some of them have been violent, most of them have had extreme anger issues, and others were so independent and self-absorbed that I wondered if they even truly noticed me. I’ll never forget when I started wearing contacts again after wearing glasses for years - after about a month, my ex-husband looked at me and said, “You look different - what happened to your glasses?” I was shocked and definitely took it personally! But that was the man I had chosen. Since then, I’ve discovered that it is important to me that my partners truly see me. Also, I’ve learned that my chosen partners were actually sending me messages about my own internal anger and identity issues. They crossed so many boundaries that I was forced to figure myself out and stand up for myself. My Venus is like - “Yeah, you’re sweet, but you’re also a fighter, don’t forget.”
Gemini Lunar Eclipse
This upcoming Monday morning, at 4:29 AM EST, we will experience a Lunar Eclipse (a Full Moon amped up) in Gemini. A Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are in alignment, and the Moon is in Earth's shadow, blocking the usual reflection of the Sun's light, and resulting in darkness when we expect luminosity. There is something of a material nature (Earth) that is obstructing our glow. Something has to move for us to see the light.
For the next year, whenever the Sun is in Gemini or Sagittarius, we’re in Eclipse Season. Why is that? Because the North Node is currently in Gemini (South Node in Sagittarius.) Whenever a New Moon or Full Moon occurs within 19 degrees of the Nodal Axis, we experience an eclipse. The North Node and the South Node are two calculated points in the heavens that show where the orbit of the Moon intersects the ecliptic in the northern (North Node) and southern (South Node) ecliptic hemispheres. In Astrology, they represent our karmic past (South Node) and our purpose/lessons (North Node.) The South Node is where old habits die hard.
A Lunar Eclipse gives you the extra push to release everything that is not in alignment with who you are and who you’re trying to become. It is chaotic energy and tends to be unpredictable, which is why it is important to be patient with the events that unfold during eclipse season. Things may feel unstable around this time, so buckle in and try your best to respond, not react. Pay attention to the themes that are coming up for you. Look to your birth chart - what house(s) does Gemini govern? What house(s) does Sagittarius govern? Here you’ll find a clue as to the psychological environments that are in need of an extreme transformation and change.
Gemini is the first Air + Mutable sign of the Zodiac, and it is where we learn language, how to define and conceptualize, and convey information. Gemini is the messenger, the reporter, the student, the scientist - any archetypal character that collects data and information and then shares it. It is mutable, so it is open to change and flexible. Gemini remains open to new information and readily adapts to it. This energy is our inner Peter Pan - flying from one idea to the next, never really settling down for a minute to dig a bit deeper, remaining eternally youthful. Here is where our greatest lessons are to be found until January 2022, when the North Node shifts out of Gemini and into Taurus. It has been information overload since May (when the North Node shifted into Gemini.) People are struggling to handle everything and many are finding themselves as students - learning how to homeschool, learning how to operate in a pandemic, learning about viruses and science. I’ve been hearing more and more individuals struggling with ADHD symptoms - a diagnosis that is indicative of Gemini energy being over-expressed. And I understand - we are living in a time period where all information is available at our fingertips. We’re more connected than we’ve ever been. How do we turn off? How do we stop our insatiable thirst for more information?
The Sun will be in Mutable Fire, Sagittarius, the sign that is exactly opposite Gemini, the balance of this energy. Collectively, our wills are activated towards serious study, philosophical thought, and seeking a Universal truth. Gemini is the student, Sagittarius is the teacher. Gemini is the scientist, Sagittarius is the preacher. Together, they create a balance between rational thought + morality. The South Node in Sagittarius, our collective karma, is releasing beliefs that may be too dogmatic and that prevent us from assimilating the facts. Over-expressed Sagittarius energy may manifest as exaggerated conspiracy theories or a belligerent “know-it-all” vibe. When you think about this past year - that is quite fitting, isn’t it? It seems nearly impossible to engage in a conversation without it beginning to shift towards the conspiracy theories. These fears could be remedied by learning - use that Gemini energy. Ask questions to the right people. Engage with others who are your teacher in this subject - the scientists, doctors, nurses, etc. Your perspective may shift, or not, but at least you’re learning something!
Where have you been overzealous? Perhaps self-righteous? Maybe judgemental? This Eclipse will be working to eliminate those qualities within you and within the collective - assisting you with re-balancing your perspective so you can communicate openly with others and transform minds. We all have a different history, a different story to share - and WISDOM CAN BE FOUND IN EVERY CONVERSATION if you pay attention.
The Exoteric Planetary Ruler of this Eclipse is Mercury in Scorpio, who will be conjunct Juno, our marriage partner. Talk messy with your partner. Get into it. Explode and be re-born. Scorpio knows the power of 2.
The Esoteric Planetary Ruler is Venus in Scorpio, who will be conjunct the Ascendent if you are on the East Coast. Go deep in your relationships. Transform the ugly by loving it so hard, and then add it to your look. BE COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR SCARS.
The Exoteric Planetary Ruler for the East Coast Eclipse Chart is Pluto in Capricorn, found in the 3rd House (of communications, our Gemini domain, a Mercury house) and the Esoteric Planetary Ruler is Mars in Aries, found in the 6th House (of work, our Virgo domain, also, a Mercury house.)
East Coast Moonbabes, you gotta transform your thinking. You gotta take accountability for your destruction (Pluto) and undergo a re-birth of consciousness. Then, get to work. Be self-motivated, self-directed, and pioneering in your approach to your day-to-day work + responsibilities. START A NEW ROUTINE.
The Mercurial energy is strong with this Eclipse. There is a need to put your money where your mouth is - if you say you’re going to do something, make it happen - prioritize your work within your most valued + powerful relationships. Have uncomfortable talks, show your vulnerability. Read Brene Brown (Virgo Moon Queen) for more inspiration on how to effectively communicate. But most importantly, show up and do the dirty work. Your close community needs you. We can all come together in small ways to benefit our survival - maybe it’s wearing a mask when you don’t want to, maybe it’s grabbing groceries for your friends, or making dinner for your family/roommates, maybe it's committing to shopping small this holiday season, or sharing your favorite small businesses with your friends. Whatever small thing you can do, it matters, it truly does.
Love fiercely. Love through the pain and sorrow. Love the ugly and the beautiful. It’s all a part of this human experience.
